(ATLANTA, GA – 3/31/17) The Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic relations today thanked British author Aru Kundnani for discussing his book, “The Musims Are Coming!: Islamophobia, Extremism and the Domestic War on Terror,” during an event sponsored by the Georgia Green Party and CAIR Georgia in Little Five Points.
“Based on several years of research and reportage, in locations as disparate as Texas, New York, and Yorkshire, and written in engrossing, precise prose, the book is is a comprehensive critique of counterradicalization strategies,” according to the publisher.” The new policy and policing campaigns have been backed by an industry of freshly minted experts and liberal commentators. The Muslims Are Coming! looks at the way these debates have been transformed by the embrace of a narrowly configured and ill-conceived antiextremism.”
Georgia Green Party co-chairman Hugh Esco and CAIR Georgia executive director Edward Ahmed Mitchell also delivered remarks at the event, which was held at Charis Books.
