(ATLANTA, GA – 9/14/16) The Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-GA) accepted an invitation to deliver its Islam 101 presentation during a private lunch with members of a Presbyterian church in Atlanta.
Two dozen members of the church attended the event as part of their months-long effort to learn about various faiths, including Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism.
CAIR-GA Executive Director Edward Mitchell discussed Muslim demographics, beliefs and practices before taking audience questions about everything from theology to hot topics like terrorism.

“I want to thank you again for…shar(ing) your important program on the True Nature of Islam with our members and friends of our church,” the group leader told CAIR-GA afterward. “Everyone I have seen since our trip has praised your efforts to the skies and thanked me for bringing your enlightened, balanced point of view to our gathering. I was so happy to get such strong, positive feedback and not a single negative, especially at a time when we are all dealing with the effects of extremism on many sides. May a more balanced and thoughtful atmosphere prevail.”
