Representative Collins’ racism and dehumanization of a whole people is a direct affront to our American values and not befitting towards the position he holds. His statement not only offends his Palestinian, Arab and Muslim constituents, but every single person in America who believes in justice and human rights.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs latest 2024 report, as of January 11, 2024, at least 23,469 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, 59,604 have been injured and more than 1.2 million Palestinians have been displaced.
