CAIR-Georgia Commends Georgia Muslim Voters for High Turnout, Congratulates Muslim Electees, Responds to Trump’s Reelection 

(Atlanta, GA, 11/6/24) – The Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Georgia) today commends Georgia Muslims for their high voter turnout rate in the 2024 presidential election, with approximately 50,000 Georgia Muslims participating in early voting and congratulates Muslim elected officials Georgia House Representative Ruwa Romman, State Senator Nabilah Islam-Parkes and State Senator Sheikh Rahman on their reelection. 

CAIR-Georgia urges President-elect Donald Trump to honor his campaign pledge to end the bloodshed in Gaza and pursue a lasting peace in the Middle East. 

In a statement, CAIR-Georgia Executive Director Azka Mahmood said: 

We are proud of Georgia Muslims who voted and made their voices heard in this election and extend our heartfelt congratulations to Representative Ruwa Romman and Senators Nabilah Islam-Parkes and Sheikh Rahman on their re-election.” 

“The election has ended and Americans have chosen their President. No matter who is in the White House, CAIR-Georgia’s critical work in defending the rights of Georgia Muslims and other marginalized communities continues. We will continue to engage and hold accountable our elected officials at every level of government and continue to monitor and oppose harmful legislation that negatively impacts our communities.”
