Real Muslims Save Lives: Blood Drive in Solidarity with Victims of Injustice

(ATLANTA, GA – 7/14/16) Georgia Muslims united to host a successful Red Cross blood donation drive at Dar-un-Noor Academy on Thursday, July 14.

“While a mass murderer was taking lives in France on Thursday, Georgia Muslims were saving lives by hosting a blood donation drive at an Atlanta mosque,” said CAIR Georgia Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell. “Thank God, dozens of Georgia Muslims donated blood in solidarity with all victims of unjust violence around the world, from Baton Rouge and Dallas to Orlando and Aleppo.”

Dozens of Atlantans, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, donated blood during the long-planned event, which was hosted by the Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-GA), American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP-Atlanta), the Georgia Muslim Voter Project (GAMVP), The Baig Firm and AtlantaMuslim.com.

The Georgia Muslim Voter Project also registered voters during the event. See more photos on Facebook:
