(Atlanta, GA 12/14/2023) The Georgia chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations welcomes the arrest and suspension of a pro-Israel teacher who allegedly threatened to beat and behead a Muslim student in Warner Robins, Georgia on December 7. The Warner Robins Middle School teacher was charged with making terroristic threats and cruelty to children in the third degree.
Social Studies teacher allegedly Benjamin Reese made threats to a 7th-grade student who asked about his Israeli flag. About 20 students and witnesses say they overheard Reese say “he would kick her f*****g a**, slit her god***n throat and drag her a** outside and cut her head off.”
While Reese was arrested on December 8, he has since bonded out.

CAIR-Georgia Executive Director Azka Mahmood said in a statement:
“We welcome the swift action against Benjamin Reese including the charges and arrest in connection with the horrific threats he allegedly made to a child. We also appreciate his suspension from Warner Robins Middle School. However, we remain concerned that Benjamin Reese is free in the Warner Robins community.
“We hope that the Board of Education will take the appropriate steps to ensure that, if this teacher indeed made the remarks he is accused of making, is not allowed back in classrooms where he can cause immeasurable harm to Muslim, Arab, and Palestinian students. CAIR-Georgia is working with the family to ensure the safety of the student and the Warner Robins community at large.”
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
