CAIR Georgia Condemns Manhattan Attack, Offers Prayer for Impacted Families

(ATLANTA, GA – 10/31/17) – The Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations today extended condolences to the families of the victims of a deadly vehicular attack in Manhattan.  The attack, which is being investigated by police as a terrorist incident, killed at least eight people and injured dozens.

In response to the attack, CAIR Georgia released the following statement:

“On behalf of Georgia’s Muslim community, we pray that God heals those injured in today’s Manhattan attack, comforts the families of those lost, and brings those responsible to justice. Murdering innocent people is evil, insane, and irreligious, whether it happens in Manhattan, Mogadishu, Charlottesville, or Charleston. Going forward, our nation’s leaders should respond to this horrific attack by bringing us together in unity.”

CAIR National has also responded to the Manhattan attack, saying in a statement:

“CAIR condemns today’s horrific and cowardly attack in Manhattan and offers sincere condolences to the loved ones of those killed and injured. Since the goal of such heinous crimes is to divide our nation, it is incumbent on Americans of all faiths and backgrounds to frustrate that criminal objective by standing united in the face of terror.”
