(ATHENS, GA – 2/4/17) The Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations today delivered back-to-back Islam 101 presentations at Masjid Al Huda’s annual interfaith open house.
During the day-long event, over 1,000 Athens residents visited the mosque, tasting international food, touring the prayer area, listening to Quran recitation, and observing CAIR-GA’s Islam 101 presentation.
The presentation included an overview of who Muslims are, what Muslims believe and what Muslims practice, followed by a Q&A session led by CAIR-GA executive director Edward Ahmed Mitchell. Other speakers at the open house included Imam Dr. Adel Amer, the local mayor and the local chief of police.
