(FAYETTEVILLE, GA – 8/4/16) CAIR Georgia Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell visited Flat Rock AME Church on August 3rd to deliver an Islam 101 presentation. Founded in 1854, Flat Rock AME is the oldest African-American church in Fayette County.
“We thank our Christian neighbors for the opportunity to break down stereotypes and build interfaith bridges,” Mitchell said. “Interfaith dialogue gives people of different faiths a chance to learn about each other and from each other so that we can recognize several common beliefs and many common values, all of which can form the basis of mutual respect and cooperation.”
During the Islam 101 presentation, CAIR-GA explains who Muslims are, what Muslims believe, what Muslims practice, and then takes questions about hot topics and any other subjects of interest to the audience.
