Legal Director
Javeria has focused her career on immigrant rights and civil rights issues affecting the Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian communities. Prior to joining CAIR-Georgia, Javeria was a staff attorney with the National Security and Civil Rights program at Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Asian Law Caucus, where she worked on protecting AMEMSA communities from overbroad government policies that treat them as national security threats.
Javeria has previously worked at Advancing Justice-Atlanta, where she helped establish the immigration legal services department, and provided low-cost and pro bono services to low-income immigrants. Before then, she was a fellow at CAIR National where she assisted clients who had been wrongfully placed on the U.S. government’s terror watchlist.
Javeria received her B.A. from UCLA and her J.D. from the George Washington University School of Law. In her spare time, Javeria enjoys watching Korean dramas, playing board games, and hiking.
